2. Extract fail data di atas dan anda akan perolehi folder “NaviM11SGMY“
3. Pindahkan folder “NaviM11SGMY” dan “PAPAGO!SGMY v11.apk” ke smartphone Android anda
4. Install “PAPAGO!SGMY v11.apk“
5. Selesai!

• Map Malaysia (MFM bertarikh 7.3.2013) telah saya compile di dalam data di atas.
• Map Baharu boleh dimuat turun dari malfreemaps.com secara percuma (free registration).
• Folder “NaviM11SGMY” boleh ditempatkan di internal (disyorkan) atau external storage.

Installation :
1. Download PAPAGO! M11 - Here / Here / Here
2. Connect your phone to computer.
*Copy (NaviM11ID) folder to your device internal storage (for android version GingerBread 2.1/2.2/2.3)
*Copy (NaviM11ID) folder to your External SDCard (for Android version ICS 4.0.3 and Above 4.1)
3. Disconnect your phone. 
4. Install Papago! M11. (can be found inside NaviM11ID folder)
5. Download Malaysia Maps - Here
6. Extract downloaded files.
7. Delete R51_SSC.hdr.
8. Copy inside whole Malaysia Map file ( 32 files,after you delete the "R51_SSC.hdr" ).
9. Connect your phone to computer.
10. Copy the whole contents of Malaysia Map from Auto Demo to Standard_VGAto \NaviM11ID\Maps\Indonesia_1203

Proton Preve CFE - Bosch GPS - KOYAK!!

The Preve CFE comes with in car Bosch GPS.  It is part of the HU unit comprising of the radio and media entertainment system.

For information I also been a regular user of  GPS software on my hand phone.  On my old Nokia E73 the GPS software is Garmin XT while on my Galaxy Note is Papago M9, NDrive and Waze.

Comparing all these GPSs I must say that the Bosch GPS cameout very poorly and the best is still the Garmin XT on my old Nokia.

The bosch GPS comes with big limitation because it is using very old Malaysian map.  A lot of places came out blank on the GPS especially new roads and housing estate.   GPS is about having the latest map and good routing software.  Even though the map is stated as version 4 and dated Dec 2012 it is actually very very old map.  If you are a regular user of GPS you will instantly noticed it.

How I wish the Bosch GPS  systems is compatible with maps produced by MFM maps at http://www.malfreemaps.com/.  The maps produced by MFM is collaborated by other GPS users.  It is almost daily updated.  You cannot beat that.  Both Garmin and Papago users benefitted greatly from this.

Further more, the maps on the Bosch GPS is a a closed system and cannot be updated by users and have to be updated by the manufacturer.  This make me really wonder whether the fella who decide on this in-car GPS unit really review out the system properly from user's perspective.  To me the in-car Bosch GPS system is a botched up job as Proton has the opportunity to make Preve a more complete driving experience.

Update PREVE GPS - BOSCH Navigation

This POI only for Preve CFE that have Bosch HU.
Step 1 : Download the file it
Step 2 : unzip the file it
Step 3 : empty your USB driver and copy the whole file name "myPOIs" to your USB driver
Step 4 : plug your USB at your HU USB port
Step 5 : HU will automatic detect the POI file, Wait until complete.

1. Extract POI file from .rar file in your computer (see above).

2. Insert in your flash drive to your computer and format your flash drive using a FAT32 file system.

3. Copy the myPOIS folder which you have extracted earlier to your flash drive.

4. Eject flash drive device from your computer.

5. Connect your flash drive with your POI data to the USB port of your HU.

6. Switch On your HU before doing step 5

7. A menu will pop up automatically asking you to download the POI data from your flash drive to your HU. Choose 'YES' to download.

8. If step 7 does not happen, you have to go to Setup button at your HU, then tap Navigation and tap the Download my POIs now.

9. If 'Download my POIs now' option are not highlighted on the HU, that means your flash drive is not readable. You have to choose a different flash drive or redo again from step 1.

10. The POI data will be downloaded to the HU now(assuming all step above successful)


*HU = Multimedia Compact Player / Radio / GPS.

To convert GPS to various format

I use GPSBabel, a FREE software to convert between various gps formats.

1. .gpi convert to .csv
2. Open .csv in excel to do some editing
3. Save as .csv
4. Rename extension .csv to .asc
5. Transfer to GPS HU in Preve

Convert the GPI file format (Garmin format) into ASC with GPSbabel.
Should work nicely with our Bosch HU unit.
Just a sharing of what I found.
