Goodbye by Air Supply

"Goodbye" by Air Supply

I can see the pain living in your eyes
And I know how hard you try
You deserve to have so much more
I can feel your heart and I sympathize
And I'll never criticize all you've ever meant to my life

I don't want to let you down
I don't want to lead you on
I don't want to hold you back
From where you might belong

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to say, but goodbye

You deserve the chance at the kind of love
I'm not sure I'm worthy of
Losing you is painful to me

I don't wanna let you down
I don't wanna lead you on
I don't wanna hold you back
From where you might belong

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to say, but goodbye

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to try
Though it's gonna hurt us both
There's no other way than to say goodbye

DIY - Halau / Nyah Anjing

You have a wide choice of dog repellents available in the market. However, these may contain chemicals that can harm your dog. Thus, a better option is to make homemade repellents.

How to Make a Dog Repellent?
The most simple way to keep your dog off the kitchen counter is filling a spray bottle with water. Whenever you catch your dog crawling up the kitchen counter, spray some water and he will run for his life!

On a serious note, to keep the dog away from your vegetable or flower patch in the garden and furniture, you'll need to take a few concrete measures.

  • Cayenne Spray: You need to add 1 part of cayenne and 10 parts of water and spray this liquid mixture over the problem areas. Do not make the mixture too concentrated as cayenne can harm the sensitive nose of Rover. Cayenne irritates the eyes, nose and throat of dogs and therefore the dog will avoid it. Try making a potpourri containing cayenne pepper powder next to your curtains or sofa. The dog won't come near it as it will irritate his delicate senses.
  • Ammonia: Ammonia smell repels dogs more than anything else. Soak cotton balls in ammonia and place them in the problem areas. This will keep your dog away from the area.
  • Alcohol: Alcohol, like ammonia repels dogs. Place cotton balls soaked in alcohol in a similar fashion as ammonia to keep the dog away from the problem areas.
  • Citrus: Cut citrus fruits, such as oranges, lemons, and sweet lime, and spread them in the garden area. You can even spray citrus oils over the furniture to keep your dog away from it. Another way is to place slices or peels of oranges and lemons near your flowerbed or vegetable patch. In case of furniture, you can place a glass of lemon water near on a table near the sofa or chairs you want to protect from Rover.
  • Vinegar: Dogs hate the smell of vinegar. They just can't stand it! Soak cotton balls in vinegar and spread them over the problem areas. You can concoct a mixture of vinegar and lime juice and spray it over the shoes. It will prevent your puppy or dog from chewing it. Never spray vinegar over the plants as it will kill them. Instead, soak coffee filters or blotting papers in white vinegar. Allow it to dry, and cut thin strips of the filter or paper. Place these strips around the plants, flowers, vegetables, and areas you don't want Rover to wander about. This will keep him away and protect your garden or even carpets.
  • Essential Oils: Eucalyptus, cinnamon or sour apple essential oils are a great way to keep your Rover from visiting garbage cans and other problem areas. Mix the oil with water and spray it all over the area you do not want your dog to visit.
  • Mustard Oil: You can spray mustard oil around the places you do not want Rover hovering. This is an effective and safe way to keep away dogs.
  • Chili Powder: If you find Rover chewing up your plants, then sprinkle chili powder around your plants. This is a sure-shot deterrent for troublesome plant-chewing dogs.
  • Dog Poop: You would have never imagined dog poop to be a useful repellent. If your dog has digging problems, you can place his poop in the problem areas. Dogs do not like to dig their poop out and will refrain from visiting that area. Once Rover's interest in the particular spot begins to vain, you can discard the poop, and fill the hole with mud or soil.
Try these homemade repellents to keep the 'Roving Rover' away from areas he is not supposed to visit.

How to Keep Dogs off Lawn

Repellents: Using repellents is an effective method to keep dogs off your lawn. There is no need to go for the commercial ones, as many household materials can be used for this purpose. One such repellent is cayenne pepper powder, which has to be sprinkled over the grass, so as to deter the dog from entering the lawn. You may replace cayenne pepper with black or red pepper; or even coffee grounds, which are also good fertilizers for the grass. Other such repellents include vinegar, moth balls, and ammonia.

Baking Soda Solution: Sprinkle a solution of baking soda and water on the grass. All you have to do is add one cup of baking soda to a gallon of water; and sprinkle this solution, especially on those spots, where the grass has dried up due to the urine of the dog. This solution helps to grow back the grass as well as to repel the animal, which fails to identify its usual spot.

Wet Grass: It has been observed that, dogs avoid wet grass. If the trespasser dog has a fixed timing, you can start the sprinklers, so as to wet the grass and prevent the entry of the dog. Repeat it for a few days, and the dog will find another spot to empty its bowels. Thus, your lawn will be spared. If this solution is impractical for you, then you can go for motion detected sprinklers. These sprinklers release water in full pressure, as soon as the animal enters the lawn. This sudden noise and water spray can scare the animal, and prevent him from entering the lawn. Apart from that, the sprinkler will wet the grass, which also works as a dog repellent.

Water Element: Fill water in glass bottles and containers, and place them in various locations in the lawn. This will deter the dog from defecating or urinating there. This is one of the widely used methods, as it is believed that, dogs will not defecate near water. Whatever may be the rationale behind this theory, there are many people who vouch for the efficacy of this method.

The original Four Thieves Vinegar Recipe – the one above is a variation, is a recipe from the 1600s.  The famous French aromatherapy doctor, Jean Valnet, has two recipes in his book. He claims corpse robbers who were caught red-handed in the area around Toulouse in 1628-1631 revealed the original recipe. His story is the more credible of the many one can find. Given the virulence and deadliness of the plague, the judges were astonished by the indifference of the thieves to contagion. Valnet quotes the archives of the Parliament of Toulouse..."During the Great Plague, four robbers were convicted of going to the houses of plague victims, strangling them in their beds and then looting their dwellings. For this, they were condemned to be burned at the stake, and in order to have their sentence mitigated, they revealed their secret preservative, after which they were hanged."
